the uncopyright

the uncopyright

One can view this two ways. either the facebook Terms of Service protects us and the copyright post is meaningless, or facebook is trying to gain control of our copyrights so that they can do what they want with our stuff. hmmm which is it?

I tend to err on the side that it is all a bunch of ballyhoo that means absolutely nothing. In the end, if you don’t want your data to be used in any way shape or form, you need to turn off your computer and go back to the cave. Sounds rather harsh, don’t you think?

It is a reality. If you put it on a computer and then connect said computer to the Internet, a person who wants your data bad enough, will get it.

Freaked out yet?

So I have the uncopyright.

Due to the fact that I have a brain, I will control what I share with the world to the best of my ability and within the constraints of that ubiquitous we know as the Internet. I share items about myself and my family knowing full well that once it is in the ether there is no removing it.

If I share something on facebook, and enable the Public availability option, I am aware that some guy at an Internet cafe in Dubai can access my post and read the content that I have shared with the Universe. I say Universe, because… well if astronauts on the space station can access the Internet, it isn’t like they are on the planet. So we might say our content is available to aliens as well. Oh wait, that gets into the whole realm of intelligent life on other planets…

Before we can discuss intelligent life on other planets, we need to look for it on our own.

that is all.  (oh and all of the posts on whynotfathers.com are copyright protected.)  have a nice day.

facebook.  something so simple causes so much stress in our house. a few weeks ago, David got onto facebook and threatened a classmate of one of his brothers.  So we took away computer priveleges. now, he steals laptops from his sibs to get on facebook.  I have submitted a request to facebook to get his… Continue Reading

hacking facebook again

Mr David keeps trying to hack into facebook accounts.  He does it by attempting to reset the password.  Every facebook account in our house sends me an email any time someone attempts to reset the password.  I then ask the account holder if they forgot the password.  Most of the time, it is being requested… Continue Reading

buttons, buttons, who has the buttons?

Well, I am either looking for my remote control or I am trying to figure out how to prevent our youngest from pushing every button he can find to anger everyone in the house in one night. He is ten years old.  He created a facebook account, and we figured that as long as it… Continue Reading

something cool happened on the way to the zoo – Lasagna Cupcakes

I know, the title has nothing to do with the content of the post, but it got your attention didn’t it? The other day I was discussing a recipe for “Slow Cooker Lasagna” that I wanted to try.  I had heard about such a thing but never tried it.  So I was going through how… Continue Reading

a friend request and feedback to facebook.

I tried to “friend” someone I knew in high school and got referred to a feedback form that told me I was banned from sending friend requests for seven days because I was sending friend requests to people I didn’t know.  I wrote this in the feedback form.  At the bottom of the page before… Continue Reading
